AmeriGel Gauze Dressing is a FDA-approved, sterile, antimicrobial/antifungal hydrogel impregnated gauze. It is indicated for stage I-IV pressure ulcers, diabetic skin ulcers, venous stasis (insufficiency) ulcers, 1st and 2nd degree burns, post-surgical incisions (dehiscence), cuts and abrasions.
AmeriGel Gauze Dressing is the only impregnated gauze dressing on the market today with Oakin®. Extracted from nature, Oakin® provides antimicrobial, antifungal and autolytic debriding properties. In a MIC test, Oakin® demonstrated bactericidal activity (in-vitro) against 51 gram + and gram – microbes, including MRSA, VRE, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas, Candida and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Other ingredients include Zinc Acetate, well known for its skin protective properties and Polyethylene Glycol, which helps to maintain a moist wound environment. As a wound filler, AmeriGel® can be utilized under compression and changed daily.
